It was at Zeman Elementary School here in the Capital City where Louie LaBudda first found his passion for art. After he graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School in 2009, he took his talents down to Crete.
Louie recalls, "I always knew that I was going to do something in the art field, I just didn't when it was going to happen."
It just so turned out that Louie's fire got lit to create ceramics at Doane University, "I had a professor by the name of Eric Stearns, who kind of took me under his wing and showed me different things that I could learn and how to build myself as an artist and make a living out of something that a lot of people think is a pipe dream so to speak."
Joe Shaw is the Associate Director at the Lux, "Louie has been one of the best selling artists at the Lux for a long time and we were happy to give him the opportunity to produce some new work and a new show for the Lux and for a lot of the people who collect him, he's in some of the best collections in Lincoln."
Gai LaBudda is very proud of what her son has accomplished, "He's just very talented. He just sees things differently and is able to express himself through his art. A lot of people love it, we love it, I wish I had more in my house."
Louie's collection of ceramics is on display throughout the month of February and it is all for sale at the Lux Center for the Arts at 48th & Baldwin Avenue.
