Traditional Batik with Kristine Allphin

This one-day workshop will give students the opportunity to create a traditional batik on cotton muslin. Participants will explore techniques, dyes, traditional tools and create at least one two-color batik while learning about the rich history of this ancient textile. This class is for adults 16+.

Kristine Allphin's education and experience in illustration and composition bring an original style, sensitivity, and craftsmanship to her batik work. She has won numerous awards for her work, and it has been purchased for use on Hollywood sets and by corporations, hospitals and private collectors. 

Kristine's work is on display in the LUX West Gallery now through April 8th, 2023.
